MEDIA STRATEGIST

Postmedia is a Canadian media conglomerate consisting of the publishing properties of the former Canwest, with primary operations in newspaper publishing, news gathering and Internet operations. It is best known for being the owner of the National Post and the Financial Post.

I joined Postmedia in 2017 straight out of college and started working at the Saskatoon StarPhoenix offices. My position at Postmedia was Media Strategist and I worked with local businesses on their print and digital media plans. I was fortunate to work with a talented group of Media Sales Consultants, Ad Directors, Website Designers and Social Media Management Strategists to help execute my client’s media plans with excellence.

My main responsibility at Postmedia was to help support our Media Sales Consultants on building media plans, coordinating digital advertising, and helping on pitch meetings. While I was at the Saskatoon offices I was also in the only Media Strategist that worked with our community sales reps in Nipawin, Melfort, and Tisdale to help those local small business transition into the digital world. In fall 2018 I transferred to the Edmonton Journal office and was apart of a larger media strategy team which had 5 strategists and 20+ sales reps. I continued to support the Saskatchewan community markets while also taking on the Northern Alberta communities and a team of urban (Edmonton) sales reps.
